Technology protecting life — phase change heating aids Tibet quake relief
After the January 2025 Dingri earthquake, Passive Edge supplied high-performance thermal-storage PCM, holding indoor temperatures at 26°C while outdoor readings fell to −13°C.

On January 8, 2025, a devastating earthquake struck Dingri County, Tibet Autonomous Region. The following day, Passive Edge responded to Zhiyuan Public Welfare’s relief call, providing high-performance thermal-energy-storage phase change materials tailored to the region’s extreme heating needs — working alongside the Tibet Science and Technology Department and the Beijing Cifu Charity Foundation.
Precisely addressing critical needs
At an altitude of 4,300 meters, Dingri County experiences nighttime temperatures down to −20°C. Our phase change temperature-control solution offers four key advantages:
- Quick installation — easy deployment, efficient for post-disaster conditions
- Safety and reliability — eliminates the hazards of traditional heating devices
- Precise temperature control — significantly improved heating performance
- Energy-saving — stable operation under extreme cold
Indoor temperature held stable at 26°C while the outdoor temperature dropped to −13°C.
On January 9, the first technical team arrived on-site for needs assessment. Under the coordination of the Tibet Science and Technology Department, aid supplies were delivered precisely to the communities most in need — demonstrating the strength of cooperation among government, enterprise, and public-welfare organizations.
